Religious Education

The school's religious education policy follows the guidelines given in the East Ridings New Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education which is in line with government regulations. The daily collective act of worship is broadly Christian in character and children, from time to time, may be involved in class assemblies. The school will make arrangements for parents to exercise their statutory right of withdrawal of their children from religious education if such a request is made.

Sex Education

Sex education is seen as part of the school's general curriculum on health education. Human reproduction is thought to be better left until children are mature enough emotionally and intellectually to understand this area in full. Any questions which do arise in this regard will be answered simply and honestly by the class teacher at a level appropriate to the child.
