Computer Animated Computer

Each class has at least an hour in the ICT suite every week.  They are following the QCA schemes of work and using the skills they acquire to produce different pieces of work.

Year 3 - Typing skills (learning the keys and the correct fingers to use); Word Processing using Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft Word (producing a page of text and images);  Music skills (designing and developing their own composition using a computer); E-mails (learning how to retrieve and send e-mails);

Year 4 - Revelation Natural Art (learning how to use an art package to design); Typing skills (learning the keys and the correct fingers to use);  Flexitree (designing their own branching database); Writing for different audiences (inputting text, images, sounds and special effects for different purposes);  Logo (writing and developing their own computer program);  Collecting and presenting information (using spreadsheets, databases and graphs)

Year 5 - Spreadsheets (using the program to budget for different real-life situations); Junior View Point (producing a class graph);  Control Junior Insight (designing their own room with gadgets that they can control); Computer Assisted Design (planning the layout to match a given brief);  Creating multimedia presentations (inputing text, images, sounds and special effects for different purposes); Monitoring environmental changes and conditions

Year 6 - Internet Proficiency Scheme (learning how to safely use technological forms of communication); PowerPoint (producing a powerpoint display to encorage the safe use of technology);  Using the internet for different purposes;  Revision support;  Spreadsheets;  Developing photography, animation and multimedia skills

Computer Club for Girls (CC4G) is currently running for year 6 girls on a Monday 3:30pm-4:45pm and Wednesday 12:45pm-1:15pm

Gridclub is a website full of educational games that are safe and suitable for primary children.  You can have access to this website at home; all you need to do is ask a member of staff for the username and password.
