Year 4 Visit            Carnaby

As part of their Geography topic on improving the local environment, all the children in Year 4 went to Carnaby to learn more about the 3 Rs - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Each of the three classes had an hour visit to the site.  This included a talk about what can be recycled at home in the blue bins, or by bringing the items to Carnaby, or other sites.  The children were shown how items from the blue bins were sorted on a conveyor belt.  Finally they were allowed to walk round part of the site, where they were able to watch members of the public bring various items from carpets to garden waste to old computers for disposal.

Back at school Year 4 children have learnt and performed a song about the importance of recycling to save Planet Earth.  In addition they have been busy producing posters and leaflets getting the message across about how important it is to REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE NOW.
